By slowing the tempo of body rhythms
and settling to deep stillness,
we can relax, turn inward and restructure
both physically and emotionally,
integrating the various parts of our selves,
create balance, and begin to self-correct.

This work is lovely for
reducing the charge of
the sympathetic nervous system
through containment and transformation
rather than cathartic emotional release.

Your body can spend a lot of energy
maintaining a holding pattern.
It is an expression of health.
Be it emotional or physical,
you are providing containment
for an injury site,
until it is ready to
resolve, release and reorganize.
I think of an "energy block" as a seed,
seemingly inert, but full of vitality,
a container for a tremendous amount
of healthy life force.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy has it's roots in osteopathy.
It helps restore balance and function by
working with (though not being limited to)
the environment of the central nervous system,
and the whole body as one fluid continuum.
