| What happens during a session |

| We’ll sit and talk for a few minutes to see how you’re feeling physically and emotionally (if appropriate). You’ll lie on my massage table clothed, but shoe-less. I take a few minutes to settle myself before I place my hands very gently on my client. The contact may not necessarily be at the head. It may be anywhere: at the feet, side or sacrum, for instance. I engage my clients system, feeling for natural rhythms in their body, then get out of the way of the work that they are doing. That is an important point to me. Biodynamic work is a matter of paying careful attention, and not directing or manipulating. I believe that it is something within the bioelectric "fluid" field of the body that does the self-correcting. By slowing my own tempo, and "listening" with my hands, a deep rest and stillness emerge, creating a resonant field between practitioner and client. Within that seed of stillness transformation happens: reorganization into patterns of greater health. It's quite remarkable. You may become aware of subtle (or not so) motions within your body, making adjustments and creating balance. You may doze off (your central nervous system does great repair work during REM sleep). We may or may not talk during the session according to need. When we’re finished, don't rush to sit up. You may feel a little spacey for a few minutes. Allow some free time for yourself after our appointment in order to assimilate the work. Later, you may notice the work continuing to unfold as your body/mind reorganizes. The work does have a cumulative effect so some processes require a few sessions to see lasting results. However, my plan is NEVER to string you along. If I can't help you, I will always be happy to find someone else or something else that can. |
